Family Safeguarding Team – Dudley Borough
Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £25,282.44 (unqualified) – £30,304.64 (qualified)
Location: Dudley (travel required)

About the Role

Our client is working in partnership with Dudley Council Children’s Social Care to deliver specialist domestic abuse support as part of the Family Safeguarding model.

This role is embedded within a multi-disciplinary Family Safeguarding Team, working alongside professionals from children’s social care, probation, mental health and other partner agencies to support families where domestic abuse is a key factor.

As a Domestic Abuse Practitioner, you will provide trauma-informed, evidence-based support to parents and carers, helping to reduce risk, improve outcomes and promote long-term safety for both adults and children.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a caseload of individuals and families affected by domestic abuse

  • Completing risk assessments, safety planning and support plans

  • Providing emotional and practical support to victims and their children

  • Working directly with families in homes and community settings

  • Contributing to multi-agency meetings such as CIN, CP, MARAC and TAF

  • Advising and supporting partner agencies on domestic abuse practice

  • Capturing outcomes using agreed tools and frameworks

  • Maintaining accurate records in line with GDPR and safeguarding requirements

About You

You will be a skilled, values-led practitioner with experience working with victims of domestic abuse and within safeguarding environments.

Essential requirements include:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant field

  • Experience supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and trauma-informed practice

  • Experience managing complex cases involving children and families

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Excellent communication, organisation and report-writing skills

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
